Directions to Green Dragon Prairie:

This Sand Prairie and Black Oak Barrens are located 18 miles from Winona State and is very easy to find.

After crossing the Hwy 43 Winona Interstate Bridge, turn right on Hwy 54. Proceed past Centerville continuing straight through the four way stop in Centerville until you reach Hwy K. Turn right (South) on Hwy K, watching for Gilbo Lane which is1/2 mile from the Hwy K turn off.. Turn left onto Gilbo Lane and proceed past two ranch style homes to the third place. There is a tall grass prairie to the right as you enter, home to Golden Alexander, Midland Shooting Star, Blue Gentian, Meadow Rue, Culvers Root, etc. and to the left is an original prairie remnant that borders an old railroad grade that ran between Trempealeau and Galesville, WI. The oak barrens and sand prairie are down the hill from the buildings. Park at the top and walk to the bottom.
