Some of the seed stock at our
restoration nursery carry genetics from pariries that no longer exist.
By collecting seed from threatened
remnants and then directly relocating plants as the develepors moved
in, we have been able to give continuing life to extirpated local
genotypes.
As time, energy and circumstances
allowed, wehave tried to preserve local prairie remnants. When that
failed, we moved in with shovels and buckets and saved what we could
save.
